Manual 997 Turbo for sub £40k Yes please!

That shows where the market is for private sale cars with 107k on the clock.

It's priced to attract a sale but may still take a while.

At that mileage its likely to have parts close to the end of their life and needing replacement (cost!).

Not a bad price for a base car if you're planning on doing a big build.

What components would need replacing at 107k miles? I would have thought the majority of components being replaced would generally age related, ie radiators, rust on turbos, etc. Please do elaborate...

Brave purchase that.....

I love the vagueness of the description :floor:

'It's fully checked and it's fine' - By whom, when and on what criteria

PCCB - Replace with steels £5k
Keep as is £12k

Wheels need refreshing, he says that in the advert, let's assume another £1500 for that or £5k for replacement

I darent move away from the corners because there is also sorts of of stuff I don't understand in the corners that cost

You could easily burn £10K on top of that price once someone starts taking a closer look. Could be a great project, but you would need a careful inspection before proceeding

Why does everyone think, just because it has a 100k on it, its a nail, and needs millions spent on.

Hmmm That's a good challenge :judge:

So I spent 5 mins thinking why did I presume it's a bit of money pit / dodgy, and to be honest you are correct it could be just a decent car with high mileage. Please note I did rule out a bit of low mileage snobbery on my part ! :hand:

To me, it's the description by the seller, that had alarm bells ringing, he tells you everything and nothing, there are no documents shown or described, the service history is referred to as in complete but how incomplete? I have more documents to show on my car after a single visit to my OPC for an MOT than this bloke showed.
We know these are not cheap cars to run, I guess people are thinking I could go to JZM spend another £14k and get something that is spot on, so why would you take on a 'risker' and spend £20k getting it right.
Also.... and I'm sorry this is snobbery on my part.... mobile phone and eBay ain't going to wash when it goes wrong :bye: Plus the coffee at OPC Chester is lovely ( albeit a bit strong 💪) 8)

And I agree, but he might well be a guy who has his own building comapany and dont know how to do an add and be PC.

Trust me I have seen a few 30k mile cars that are nails as well!!

Fully agree.... I did assume that this bloke was devious than just someone who is just ineloquent in his description, but the mere fact we are debating the unknown is enough to put off the majority including me. Sadly we are too blessed with both knowledge and a great network of specialists dealers to enter this World I would say.
As to the price,it's fair but I'm still knocking on JZM door with an extra £14k
