Please let me know if you have a cared for sub 55k miles with FULL OPC history to sell, ideally with some OPC warranty.

Realistic market pricing please :thumb:

:? That's a strange 'short list' or are you looking to buy both :?:

Also, it might help to specify your budget as there's a big variance between Gen1 and Gen2 cars.

Sure,...Budget wise I would say max £60k for the latest and best spec/ mileage Turbo. Max £49k for the Targa. Just looking for the one car as per the title.

Ps. Please be realistic on price you want. By this I mean please do check current prices on places like Autotrader for similar cars at dealers and assume a lower price point to sell (due to dealer margins built into their prices). Hope that sounds reasonable to sellers reading this.

Thank you

Manual or tiptronic turbo?

Preferably manual on either with no over rev history, but would consider the auto/PDK also. I saw your advert, but t read like you were PX'ing back in Feb. Let me know if you still have it and spec etc.

Dont get hung up on over rev's, I did a heap of reading on this and spoke to various Indies, most of which were very dismissive of the check process.

Apparently DME anomalies regularly occur and can skew the data, anything less then 10 falls into this category.

Yes, thanks. I understand that, however it is very obvious when there is a legit over-rev event. These cars are therefore the ones to avoid and will not be able to get an OPC warranty cover in that case either.

My manual car doesn't have exclusively OPC HISTORY, so that is out for you

Not quite sure why you would expect a private individual who for example had a manual turbo with OPC warranty with no issues to ask any less than a specialist Indy would?

That is a good point, above!!

Sellers can ask what they like BUT whilst the cars might be identical it's pretty much a stone cold fact that any dealer, and especially a Porsche specialist, is likely to sell a car at a better price as they can offer finance, part-ex and perceived peace of mind.

Canny buyers will buy privately but most would expect to save a few bob over buying from a dealer.

No offence Terry, or to any one else, but too many people can't afford the car they want so they need a warranty to pay for any problems they meet; I have never had a warranty and don't think I ever will, so private or auction I will go. It depends on the personality I suppose

As T8 says...
Its a Pretty basic car buying mentality really and probably how MOST buyers would think... I would expect to pay less privately as I have limited come backs with the seller, so there is more risk associated from buying privately, plus less options for paying privately. Hope that helps clarify

I think your trying to buy the best possible car with all the boxes checked, warranty, manual, OPC S/History at the lowest possible price, which is what we all want. That's fine if your buying something that's difficult to shift and there's loads for sale but your not. The dealers will be falling over themselves to buy a low mileage, FPSH no over revvs manual car, so much so you won't even get to sit in it!
Realistic market pricing is based on what the market is selling these cars for and in Spring that's commonly referred to as Top Dollar, in which case you might as well give up looking for a Turbo! You will probably get a 'tip' at that money but a PDK, unless it's got very high miles not a chance and a manual with no over revs, the same.
Even a very good 996 Turbo is probably going to stretch your budget.
