WB Wheels ET51 on a NB Car

Morning all,

I've been searching the forums about this. I'm looking at some wheels where the 19" rears are 11J ET51.

My current wheels are standard 11J ET67 which I was about to get lowered (techart) and put 15mm spacers on.

If I've worked it out correctly the new wheels would push out 16mm further than my current ones, so I wouldn't need to bother with spacers.

Problem I have is so many posts say this is fine 16mm vs 15mm is nothing, while other say don't do it, they'll stick out it'll look ridiculous etc etc.

So I wondered if anyone has done this and if so would the mind posting a picture so I can see what it looks like?. I've seen a few posts with people asking similar questions but few have come back saying they'd done it and posted a pic (from what I found anyway)

My car is a 997.2 C2S.

thanks and sorry for another wheel question :)

when I sold my gen1 NB I swapped the wheels over and fitted WB turbo 2 alloys and it looked fine with no spacers at all , I think there may be some debate about it due to what I found , if you swap the alloy over but leave the 305 tyres on it can look a bit wide but if you fit your 295 tyres on the WB alloy it sits better , lowering it will pull the camber in at the top even further. the other thing to consider is the sidewall profile of different tyres as some have a more rounded profile MPSS for e.g. whereas contis etc have a straighter squarer sidewall and bigger rim protector.
all these varients are I believe the reason for such a mixed review of putting WB alloys on a NB car. :thumb: :thumb:

cheers Phil, I was hoping to put 295 MPS4's on them so I may go for it :)

Before committing, it might be an idea to see if there are any forum WB owners in your local area that would be willing to do a test fit. It would certainly give a definitive answer. :thumb:

I think thats a spot on suggestion, if there are any but bear in mind if they are WB owners they will be running 305s on them so you wont get the right feel . ideally it would be someone with them fitted to a NB running 295s

Sorry these are the only pics I have of the swap over as you can see the turbo2s were on the 4S WB on the ramp and then put on my NB gen2 the tyres were MPS2 :thumb:

Photos of WB turbo alloys on my C2S fitted with Continental 295s. I wouldn't push it to 305s on mine... :thumb:

I suppose you'd be OK on 19x11s with the WB offset, but the 19x11.5s might be a challenge. On the other hand, if you lower it a tad, the tops of the wheels might align with the arches. You really want to avoid 'poke'.

The alternative is a bit of gentle rolling of the arches. 8)

thanks all for your advice.

addavies - are those wheels 11J ET51?

Yep. The same as these:

They will likely fit but they will ruin it. 20" is too big a look for 997. It is a small car.
