my heater/ac display has a few pixels that are always illuminated - see picture, right of the fan icon. is there a way to fix this or do i need to install a new digital display?

this does however appear to be for screens with the half moon. what i want to avoid is going to the trouble of replacing the screen and the same issue occurring. any advice greatly welcomed.
