So I have a "story" about the exchange of my car a rock and the splitter I will tell later you will cringe

Picked up 997.2 PDK all low mileage etc

Anyway after driving for 30 mins it says low oil level. Stop the car check the electronic dipstick and its fine clears the warning carry on( checked all looks good)

every time I stop it happens after 25mins, everything else is fine the oil level is good, can drive for another 90mins no problem. What is going on, 2011 car 30K miles

Whatever you do don't be tempted to put in more oil.
Wait for the experts, who I am sure will follow my comments very soon on here, to clarify the details and confirm my strong suspicion that in fact the car has been accidentally overfilled with oil.
I have seen this happen before on a Gen 2, Carrera S.

Already answered but due to a software glitch if the car is overfilled then it will bring up a warning for under filled.

You have checked it on the dash oil lvl and was there a gap at the top or all coloured in ?

Basically the very top segment over the arrow should not be coloured in .. if it is then its a possible over fill thats causing the message .

the very top is not coloured in when checking

West London Porsche want a hour's diagnoses at £220!

Did you buy it from the OPC? Thinking either get them to pick it up as not prepared properly or porsche assist it back to them ?.

only one cab turbo gen 2 at a OPC not my colour

the dealer who sold it said they will cover the cost, I just want to play with it now

If the top one is blank on the display then its not over filled so oil lvl sensor is the most likely .

London OPC is £220 per hour

Dear god my indy is £85 + vat so £102 per hour .. i had no idea prices were that high these days.

Robbie, take it your your trusted indy , glad it sounds like its not over filled the amount of times I have heard of guys thinking each segment is 1ltr which its not on the gen2 its about 400ml ish and less on the gen1 if I remember correctly :thumb:

thats the problem Phil, there is a lot of value in the car having a OPC history, the indie I used was great for most cars but I'm not sure I trust this paintwork with them....

what have I done I had over 40 mods on the GTR

thinking keeping the servicing OPC and finding a upmarket indie for the other stuff

"thinking keeping the servicing OPC and finding a upmarket indie for the other stuff"

That's what I do with mine.

so the OPC found 0.2 litre to much oil in, likely put in by the other OPC

surreal bill with the dealer selling the car to me paying some me the other and the OPC overcharging...

about to test the fix!

hopefully fixes the issue mate , and yes the best idea if you want to keep the OPC service history intact use them for those and a goos Porsche specialist indy for everything else. :thumb: :thumb:

yes thinking that...

getting charged £150 +vat to move 2 fuses to enable the tracker is a bit much!

OPC are a bit silly with some small jobs. £60 to check the airbag warning system and £200 to service the aircon being two of them.
