Hi All,
Took the car for a run on Sunday and parked her back up in the garage and noticed no more than a teaspoon full of fluid front and centre of the car after about an hour sitting, checked the colour and it looks to contain anti freeze, no unusual temperatures on the gauge and no steam or smell from the rad.

I am assuming it is a small leak in the drive side rad, the car is an 03 targa with 48.000 on the clock if I am having it investigated would it be best to replace both rads as a matter of course heading off any future issues or could something simpler be accounting for the small amount of fluid found.

If both rads need to be replaced should I expect this to be something a good indie could turn round in a day?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If the leak is coming from "the front and centre" it's more likely to be your centre radiator.

Tiptronics have three.

Are you sure it's coolant, could also be Power Steering fluid, have you checked both levels? If there's any left around, PS fluid will feel more 'oily'.

Consider buying your rads from a 3rd party supplier, either ECP (or equivalent) or a rad specialist, Porsche parts are expensive.

While the front is off, you may find you need new aircon condensers, again look at non-Porsche parts. There is also a thread somewhere about replacing the resistor on the cooling fans, an easy job while it's all apart.

All this should be easily done in a day unless you are stuck for unexpected extra parts.

Power steering leaks can be a pig to fix depending on what's failed.

Make sure it's coolant. I would be 100% sure before you start replacing parts. Dip finger in liquid, lick finger; you will have a more definitive diagnosis if you have a coolant leak: it's a destincive taste.
