Ha - I know. To be honest, it was the cost to change that was important to me and I got that within what I wanted. I got them down £4K from their starting point so felt like a moral victory when in fact there was probably more off to be had.
I am daft as my cars always go out better than they came in but I love looking after them and the C4S will get the same.
Thanks to you all for your nice posts and for welcoming me. Great bunch of people.
I agree, cost to change is all that really matters. £4k movement from an OPC is pretty good going.
I look forward to meeting you and seeing your car at the meets.
Thank you. 997 Turbo is an awesome car, you must the person with the eternal smile. One day I will have a turbo. Would love to drool over you motor one day 👍

I know what you mean about a 4S vs a 2S. From a driving viewpoint, they are pretty much indistinguishable (but I did feel that the 2S I drove on a test wasn't quite as planted as the 4S). However, that extra 44mm width makes all the difference in my view - it just looks sooo right! Not to mention the full rear lighting strip ...
The aqua blue looks pretty much the same as sapphire blue - is that the case? It's difficult to tell from the photos in the dealer
Love the light strip. I can’t comment on sapphire blue but I know Aqua has been dropped as a choice. I am going to get in detailed and will post some pics. I guess you don’t see many blue 911s in general. Not that I can afford to order new but definitely think they could expand the normal colour range choice for such an expensive car.
Welcome to the Forum, and just so you are fully up to speed Blue is the new black and aqua is the new Basalt great car great colour look forward to hearing more from you get along to some meets in whichever area of the country you are in.
/.
Hi Phil, blue is indeed the new black. Basalt is so last year. I am based in Hampshire too, near Yateley. I see you are in Bournemouth? Not sure if you are a footie fan but they are my second team as my wife grew up there. I’d love to come to a meet and see your fabulous machines.
your more than welcome infact have a look in the meets section theres a curry coming up with some of the guys , there are a few of us this way with aqua cars. always a bit quiet for meets this time of year but the south central group are quite an active group especially when its a bit warmer . theres also a meet in the meets section I think its late Jan early feb that guys from Portsmouth, Southampton will be going to along with the guys from Bournemouth and others from this region. have a look and get your name on the list
I am genuinely very humbled. What a welcome to a complete stranger. You Sir
are top drawer. Never realised you guys meet up so regularly, would definitely be up for that. I’ll have a look at the meets section. Thank you!
but your not a stranger your a 911 owner one of the things I found so nice about Porsche ownership is the social scene around the marque more so than any other car I have ever owned. 40 odd of us from here went to Germany last may in three groups and all met up and joined 2000. others from around Europe what a great weekend will be doing the same next may. and there are lots of uk Meets mostly during the summer have a browse through the meets section to get an idea of what to get involved in next year. . hope to catch up with you soon _________________ 911 Owners,Some Invest In The Future,

Thanks for all your nice comments, much appreciated. Pick up not until 16th sadly.
I wondered if anyone has experienced Burmester after Bose? I’ve read a bit about this but wondered what your experiences might be? Also, is Active Cruise useful?

I've had Burmester on both my 911's... love it. Seems especially good in the C4 GTS, but that may be the latest PCM which will play .flac files directly from SD cards. Suspect that would sound pretty good via the Bose as well! _________________ Current: 991.2 C4GTS

I love this colour, congrats! If I had the patience to wait for an Aqua Blue model to turn up in my price range I would have jumped at it... I would have also been waiting 10 years

Thanks Rob. Agate is lovely too, is that what you have? Hopefully picking up on Thursday, been a long wait. I’ve only seen Aqua Blue in pictures, it does look lovely and a very non typical Porsche colour. I’ll post some pics of the weather holds.

Yep - Agate Grey C2S. It's a slightly more typical colour - but I honestly gasp everytime I approach it. Just a beautiful car in every sense.
I had basalt black as my 997 - and whilst it was one of my preferred colours initially, it lost a little bit of sparkle when I saw soo many others in a similar colour - especially in London. _________________ Current: Agate Grey 991.1 C2S Coupe, PDK

So after a long wait and arduous drive up to Bolton I finally collected here yesterday. Don't know if anyone has bought from Bolton but very impressed with their service, much more special and comprehensive than my dealings with Kendal.
First impressions - colour is truly stunning, especially under showroom lights. Love the lowered stance with Sports PASM and the wheels / colour combination really works for me.
I had a near 4 hour drive home so got to make an immediate comparison to C2S. The C4S does not have Power Steering Plus so steering felt instantly more meaty which is a good thing. Sports Suspension does give a firm but compliant ride but I felt I had to concentrate a bit more with lane changes and ruts etc but also perhaps no bad thing for a 911. It definitely felt more planted in the wet no doubt due to 4wd. Adaptive Seats are very comfortable but firm, we will see how my back is after a few months
Definitely feels a big step up from C2S which is a relief, the level of Spec helps with that too.
Next step - full detail. I think this one is a keeper.

Ha - yes you are right. I don’t think the wife would sanction another car purchase and I can’t afford a divorce!
What do you drive?

I got my Sapphire C4S from Bolton. Kieran was the salesman. Nice chap and a very good experience (though it wasn't very hard work on their part - I basically walked in, spotted this little blue 911 in the corner, fell in love with it and said 'I'll buy it'). And I still remember a shiver going down my spine as I drove out into the night from the showroom in my very own 911 ...

Would love to see some Sapphire pics Forrester. I think Kieron is their sales manager, came over to say hello. That’s a great story and I share your emotion - making dreams come true (albeit with a tidy profit) 😃

I've had my 997.1 Turbo since February 2015. My plan was that by now I'd be in a 991.1 C4S but the 'cost to change' just hasn't come down as much a I'd hoped. I've loved the 991 since I first saw one in the metal but I've become really fond of my old red bus so I don't know if I'll ever have one. The right car in Aqua Blue could probably tempt me. _________________ 2007 Guards Red 997 Turbo Tiptronic

I’m not sure a 997 turbo can be described as an ‘old red bus’. 991s seem to be holding their value for now but I imagine yours would be to. I wonder how a C4S would compare to your turbo, you might find it a bit pedastrian? 😃
