Hi All,

I took the plunge after waiting nearly a year, I've placed a deposit on a 997.2 C4s Cabrio 86k miles, 2 previous owners, £36k with 4 new Michelin tyre's.

It's had 3 services from OPC and 1 service from a Porsche specialist, last service was OPC for 2k which including replacing some corroded pipes.

Looking at prices I think I've paid about right, most cabrio's going for about 44k with around 30-50k miles on.

What do you guys think?

I really like the look of that and the price seems fair. I drive the same car as you used to! Did you get bored of the 996?

I had the 996 3 years ago for about 12 months, it hardly got used and I never really "loved" the car as I did my Z4 I had a few years earlier.

Great find, best colour! Wink
Prices are highly spec dependant and the high mileage will obviously mean it's cheaper but £36k is a great price in anyone's book!

Very nice, I'd have a good think about getting it under Porsche Warranty because of the mileage.

It'll pay for itself, I've engine seals, rear lights, PDK programming, valve units, seat pumps etc etc replaced + labour. Lord knows how much it would have cost. The cost of the engine seals was about £1200 and the seat valves were in the region of £1700.

Stress free motoring and you get to drive the latest Boxsters, 911, cayman or Panamera, Grin

How much is the warranty? I've been thinking of doing it but my OPC in Sheffield never replies!

Found it on another site

breakdown 12 month 24 months
Warranty £660 £1270
Porsche Assistance £169 £275
111 Point Check £216 £216
Total £1045 £1761

Shall I get the 111 check done before I collect the car? £1270 isn't bad at all for 2 ye warranty!

The warranty is excellent but everything has to be 100% standard and the way Porsche intended. For example mine isn’t eligible as it’s got a parrot Bluetooth kit - it would have to be removed. With the cost of new tyres, a full major service and the 111 point check I was in for a significant 4 figure sum without paying for the warranty.

Lovely looking car and great value!

I'll have to drop it down to an OPC, last service was a major one earlier this year with an OPC for 2k.

MOT has a couple of advisories in but easy to sort (front top strut corrosion, and drop link ball play)

+1 Especially with the mileage, but thats a super price thumbsup Your issue is however, how long you can have the warranty due to the mileage Question Dependant on your future mileage.

I thought the warranty costs were double that amount?? In my head I had about £2200 for 2 years. Great news if I am wrong as mine is up for renewal in Feb.

You are correct, it is £2200 for 2yrs. That includes a 2 year European cover and hotel, onwards travel car & vehicle delivery once repaired etc. So it's not a bad price for how fragile and costly these vehicles are to run and repair.
