The pressurised strut failed to hold the cover open reliably so I have just changed it with a look alike product and all seems well.
I did however notice that there are identical fixing holes on the other side of the cover but which don't have the pivot balls fitted.
Should there be 2 struts? One seems perfectly adequate given the relatively light weight of the cover and it does not look as if a second has ever been there.

The hole on the otherside is for the turbo I think, as that has 2 struts, probably to compensate for the heavier spoiler.

:? I'm confused now as I've just seen a C4S with 2 struts!

Looking to replace mine soon after a crushed hand incident!
Not sure if C4S came with two as standard but I have heard of people retrofitting a second one to narrow body cars.
