Hi everyone, getting back into the fold after a couple of years abscence after a series of unfortunate events with the 993 it's now long gone, but my 996.1 is being delivered at the end of this week!

This will be a third car now, I've 9 years NCB unmirrored on the Two others, a 535d and an e46 m3, I'm assuming I can get NCB mirrored off one of those? Anybody have any good insurers to call? I've used classicline for many years, Adrian flux occasionally, but any recommendations for my circumstances?

Also I could probably do with a spare key it's only got the one, it's an early 1999 model so can I get a cheap one cut and cloned or is it a pile of money at a Porsche centre the only option?

I have both Porsches "mirrored" on the 9 years NCB of my daily driver Merc, about £450 each fully comp with swiftcover :thumb:

I use Pace Ward at the minute for my 530d and 996, mirrored NCB with 9 years on the Porsche and an effective 6 on the BMW, but its actually only 1 year.

Classic line sorted me out this afternoon, their classics policies don't require any NCB. Had a reasonable price off them as usual and good service as always. Thanks for the suggestions Will definitely do some shopping around next year knowing mirroring possible when there's not the time pressure to get covered as she's being delivered tomorrow morning! :D

Whats NCB "mirroring" ?

Whenever I have spoken to Insurance companies about the possibility of runing a £500 cheap banger as my daily to reduce the risk to them of me having an accident in my 997 turbo they have all said I can only use my 25 years NCB on just the one car, i.e. the 997. If I was to buy a £500 banger id have zero NCB on that and have to pay the full price.

With Admiral multi car I pay about £300 a year for the 911 and another £300 for my Skyline. Seems like quite a good deal.

I use Classicline for my stand alone policy on my Noble but for my other cars I use Advantage Insurance in Bury ask for Gary and mention my name they are very very good.I have 3 cars all on mirrored NCB

Admiral here too.
£220 fully comp on 996 C2.
£110 fully comp on my old Volvo estate.
2 lots of 15 years NCB, accrued via mirroring.

No doubt the cover isn't as indepth as a specialist eg no main dealer windscreen option, but it will do for now. I'll want proper cover once I have the car the way I want it, with mods declared.

I generally use Matt at Henderson Taylor for proper cover. Or Classicline or Mannings.

Try a different Insurance company. They will give you the same :Max9) years NCB for free - they mirror the NCB discount. I think quoterack can multiquote a few for you, but do the numbers, it's rarely cost effective to do it unless big miles and who wants to do big miles in a rubbish car

Would have recommended Classicline.

Have my turbo with them and recently bought a MINI for a winter runabout, they mirrored my NCB no problem at all, both cars still in use.
