Ended up doing a deal and PXing the 996 for of all things a 2015 focus ST3.
Didnt get the exact price I wanted however the focus was the exact (rare ish ) spec I was after and was priced keenly so win some loose some.
In 5.5 years ownership having put just under 30k miles on the 996 I dropped £5k so just over £900 a year depreciation not bad compared to some vehicles I've owned. ( cough cough ducati)
I do have a pair of 987 / 997 basic seats in dark blue (no heat just electric tilt) with intact airbags in good condition which I now need to shift however so I'll pop them on the parts section soon.
These are the ones that drop straight into the 996 bolt holes and can be retro wired to the loom allowing the electric tilt to operate.
They make the seating position a lot lower and give you a more in the cockpit rather than on it feel and as I now have a car with a large enough boot I may even be able to deliver them
