I am doing a body restoration on my 914 and I have toyed with the idea of colour coding the valance and sills in body colour.
Would this work aesthetically without the big wheels?

On this creamsicle the front valance is a different shape and its not body coloured so it doesn't really give much of a clue although it does make the wheels look a little lost :dont know:

Black lowers seem to work with the black bumpers but maybe not so much chrome bumpers?

I think the yellow one in the second pic looks spot on even the chrome fuch with the chrome front :thumb: I also like the fact the rather big and ugly side indicators have been removed gives the car a more streamlined and modern look without loosing the style of the car.

I think it'll give the appearance it's been slammed and also look like it's firmly planted to the road - will possibly look a lot cooler. There's a reason most body parts are coded these days.

Look back to the 80s when it started and compare pictures of any car with coded and uncoded sills.

I had an A6 quattro with dark grey sill trims and lower bumper trims. 1St thing I did sas code it all the same colour - totally transformed the car!!!

Makes the car look younger too and takes away that kit car image.

That does look good I must say and it helps to clean up the look along with the removal of my side repeaters and radio aerial.

This is another Delphi green car with the repeaters and aerial removed.
It does look good with the black :?:
