I had a browse through previous posts but couldn't see this being covered in the way I am thinking of.
My car has the early pre facelift Li-Tronic head lights that have a clear outer quadrant but an amber lens set back inside the unit itself.
Is there a possibility of altering this set up to remove the amber lens and simply install a chrome bulb so that the unit looks completely clear?

Typical! almost as soon as I had put this post up I found a zillion "how to de amber" guides.
Just need to get my brave pants on now to attempt melting the amber lens out now :puh:

In case you're looking for more photos and 'how to's' then the keyword to search for is 'amberectomy'. That will bring up 2 zillion results :)

It's a 'must do' mod.

Might be worth swapping with someone that wants to backdate their lights to amber, as is the trend at the moment.

He doesn't have ambers Chris. He has the clear lights with the internal amber filter. As seen on the right:

.......and wants to change them to this (on the right):
