I've got a wheel bearing gone and was planning a DIY - however, to enable this effectively most forums are recommending a specific tool;

http://www.sirtools.com/hub_kit.htm

Basically, a bearing and hub removal kit that does the job with the carrier on the car. Certainly a much easier solution.

Has anyone else done this DIY / got this tool? Or knows where I can purchase it.

Given the quotes I'm getting, I only have to do it once to make it pay!

No experience of it. I like to do as many jobs as I can myself, but there are a few which need such tools that you are better off just paying to have it done, perhaps this is one.

You're probably right MC - my only quondry is simply that the more I track the car, the more wear it comes under, and therefore the ability to change bearings / hubs etc saves in the long run,.

Have a garage extension planned with 2 post lift,, do restos on classis etc too.. so thinking if I can find the tool it might be worth investing in it.
