Bonnet badge replacement - speed nuts perished

Hi all - tried to replace the bonnet badge on my 996 yesterday, it looked simple enough after watching a few online tutorials. However, I'm damned if I could discern any speed nuts in those hard to inspect voids. I did take a suitable hex to them and had a feel in case my presbyopic eyes deceived me, but no - pretty sure there is nothing there. I could sort of see metal flush to the hole but no proud nuts. I then had a go at simply pushing at the flush metal from under the bonnet with a chopstick in case I could pop the badge off that way. You can probably tell that I'm not known as being mechanically minded. I then gave up as I would much rather a slightly faded badge than a buckled bonnet! Anyone any ideas in this situation?! Many thanks!
