Hi guys, any siggestions of where to get a pair of good quality air con condensers. My neighbours car has a leak one side, found out not covered on his Porsche warranty, they have quoted £700!! to change. Suppose they have to fund the showroom some how😀

I think most condensors on the market are much of a muchness in terms of quality, make sure you change the 'O' rings though. I bought mine (996 not 997) through ECP although I think some Aircon specialists are cheaper. It's an area where the Porsche premium is excessive!

As mine had failed and lost all the gas, it was a straightforward DIY job.

Thanks, yes easy job I will do it for him. I know the 996 are available aftermarket but not sure if the 997 are the same 😀
Trust your still enjoying the car, fitted all the LEDs you sent made a world of difference😎

If he has an OPC warranty he will need to fit OPC supplied air con condensors.
How much labour will he save buying OPC condensors,, doing it himself and then.getting an AC re-gas?

Sometimes with an OPc warranty its worth just having the work done by OPC to preserve the warranty. But each to their choice.

Had both mine recently covered by Porsche warranty.

However if there is evidence that a stone caused the damage they won't cover them.

My local opc said mine wasn't covered, I contacted Porsche and they agreed to do them under warranty and I used Sheffield instead of Leeds.

these have been working in mine for over a year now Ebay item 290897124732 perfect fit for my 997.2 C2 Turbos are listed as compatible. Whilst the system is open it's worth changing the Receiver/Dryer near the cabin air filter 281744126481. I got the O rings from ECP. £50 quid regas from a place with the machine that does all the work and all working fine - Dealer had quoted £1100. . I changed both and still have the one that wasn't punctured wwhich you're welcome to.

I put ECP in mine a while ago and got a bargain with a discount code that was on at the time.

If the 997 is anything like a 996 then it really isn't a hard job to DIY if you can use tools.

My supposedly OEM ones had poor quality fittings that made a seal tricky - had to use gunk on one that kept leaking. Inspect them carefully and if not perfect send them back before fitting - don't ask me how I know Sad

Thanks will check if I end up fitting for him. Told him about some of the above responses, only realised the £700 quote was just to replace one side!
