Hi, been looking at 991 GT3's for a while now prices seem to be on the up, is there any reason why not to buy these cars private as prices are def a bit lower with the odd ones that are out there.

At those prices I would want a PPI and a transferrable Porsche warranty (which you can't get through a dealer). With those in place I would be happy.

Agreed, just as long as the car checks out wash yourself and save on the dealer markup :)

Get the current owner to put an OPC warranty on it (even if you have to pay for it) and save yourself £'000s.

Agree with T8. Mate has one with 7k miles on it and he is frightened of the engine letting go. OPC won't sell him a new one.

He should sell it. If you are frightened to drive a car you own that is completely missing the point of owning a car!!

Thanks for the replies guys.

Was the engine issues not sorted out on the cars and only on specific engine numbers?
With regards to warranties, if Porsche won't give you one is there not other companies out there that can offer them?

Oh, he still drives it and quite briskly. He just worries that the engine os made of jelly, hence the more recent changes to the engines.
