I have had a topgear valvetronic exhaust with 200 cell big bore cats fitted to my car for the past 3 years with no issues at all as it was a great quality product .
about a month ago I had one of the valves sticking, probably through lack of use as I always have it on loud  I called Topgear and they said no problem they would send me the bits I needed. 3 days later a parcel arrived with an entire replacement valve set up retail price £160 not just the small bit I needed. I was very impressed and got my local tech to fix the exhaust .
This monday while my local tech was doing a pre Dinslaken check over the car he noted that there was a small crack on one of the welds on the cats and the tips were rattling , ah I thought this could be the reason why I had started getting some vibration inside the car at about 3000rpm . So I called Topgear to explain my findings and that I had brought their system 3 years ago . The response was " not a problem can you bring it in to us on Thursday we will sort it under Warranty " great I though and asked how long is the warranty " for the lifetime you own the car " I was told . very impressed with that answer.
So today I arrived at Topgears HQ in Bridport Dorset which is about 50 miles
from Bournemouth. My car was taken straight into the workshop and a guy called Yarek appeared to inspect the car . He was very very apologetic for what had happened why are you apologising I asked him "Because it was me that made your exhaust " he said " but dont worry I am going to sort it as it should not have happened " he must have said sorry 10 times during the time I was there . he took me into the fabrication area and showed me them building 200 cell big bore Xpipe for a 997 that was being shipped to Italy that afternoon.
Yarek then got on and fixed the issues replacing the clamps, brackets and refitting the tail pipes which they also cleaned while off the car. they sorted the weld and took me under the car to show me with mirrors what they had done . I was very impressed with their customer service and care.
While I was waiting I saw that along with making exhausts for there own topgear , longlife and powerflow brands as well as making exhaust for others. they do remapping and Hydroflow engine cleaning .
I have read a few threads and web bits about Hydroflow so asked what it did .
a technical guy came over and explained that there are two types on the market one used a chemical in the mix and the other doesnt . when they ran trials it seems the one with the chemical potentially leaves a residue that could be corrosive to engine parts ,so they decided that was not for them and went with the water based system what this does it creates hydrogen which is pumped into the engine this burns much hotter than petrol and burns off the carbon deposits through the engine and exhaust .which they said improves fuel economy, power, general engine feel .
OK I said can you do that while I am here. and they agreed to fit me in.
the process takes about 45mins to do . I then left to see what if any difference this made to the car.
Well to say I was surprised is an understatement . the exhaust now sounds perfect with the carbon deposits cleaned away from it , the car pulls better feels better the engine runs smoother. The biggest thing was the fuel economy. on my ave mile per gal this hardly ever moves much as its based on thousands of miles driving , but on the way home it climbed and climbed like I have never seen before when I left this morning my gauge said I could do 230 miles based on current MPG I drove 50miles there and 50 miles back and it now says I can still do 222 mile in my tank. So I am very impressed with the hydroflow and I know there have been threads on here asking if anyone had done it . Well I have and I highly recommend it. worth calling Topgear HQ to see if one of their local to you powerflow or longlife outlets have the system as its being rolled out to them and some already have it and some are waiting. I took some photos while there
