Wheel refurb - 997 Turbo

Hi all,

The lacquer on both of my rear wheels has started to look pretty tatty, particularly around the holes where the wheel bolts go.

Given that the wheels are two coloured (silver and grey), do i need a full refurb, or is it possible just to get them re-laquered?

Other than this issue, they look absolutely great with no scuffs or other damage.

Any suggestions of someone in the North West (Chester area) who could do them for me?

Cheers :thumb:

Chris at Excel Wheels and then they will come back looking like this

Diamond rims in Blackburn. Best lads in the business. They strip, reprofile the front face on their cnc machine, paint and lacquer. £65 a corner plus VAT. Their work is beyond flawless.

Richardks will also vouch for them.

Thanks Alex, i don't suppose they do a "while u wait" service.... I don't get to Blackburn very often

All details are on their site. Think they even do courtesy cars and collection service. I guarantee their work is to be surpassed.

I recommend Greg at The Wheel Specialists in Chester. They are next to Cheshire Oaks at Ellesmere Port. Its a case of drop-off at 8:00, Greg will give you a lift to Cheshire Oaks and pick you up again at end of day to drive-away in your car.

Costs are good. The work is guaranteed for 12 months and OPC Chester sends them their wheel prep work for Porsche-approved used cars.

Alternatively you can also book the work through Road and Race Restorations in Little Hulton, the only Porsche-approved bodyshop in the NW. They will manage it from start to finish and give you a new/very young Mercedes A-class or Skoda Fabia.

You can also consider Exel Wheels who offer a loan wheels service with refurb.

All three are competent to handle diamond-cut wheels.

Choices, choices.

Cheers guys, will investigate.

It's in OPC Chester on June 2nd for a service, I wonder if I could tie it in with that..... :?:

I've had 4 sets done including tyres by ChrisW at exel and can 100% recommend him. Also have seen daveH's 997 turbo wheels in the flesh and they are pin sharp  His loan wheels and at home fitment service saved me a lot of hassle.

My pal has just had his diamond cut m3 wheels done at a place in Manchester and they have done a brilliant job. Significantly cheaper than anywhere else but a top job. I'll dig out the details and post you a pic.

Platinum Coatings nr trafford centre. £340 fo 4. A bargain I'd say.

Chris at Excel is the only guy who will do them properly. These alloys are anodised and once that coating comes off they corrode. Most refurb will not re anodise them.

Chris comes to your house lends you a spare set set and then takes them to Lepsons who are they only guys I'm aware of who can refurb them back to OEM spec.

lepsoms are the best. End of. And the detailer opposite is the best as well.

Just to reiterate both of the above are the best.
