I have a slight oil leak from the cam cover on bank 2. Can the gasket be changed with the engine in place or does the engine have to come out

There isnt a gasket , its silicone and depending wether its vario cam or vario cam plus you will need special tools to hold the camshafts as with vario cam the cover holds the camshafts in place .

Again depending on the type then plug tubes can leak as can the cover bolts so it might just be these that are leaking.

You can remove them in situe though .

Found a post here ..

You'd be unlucky for the cover to head joint to leak - as said it's a machined surface with sealant.

More likely is a plug tube seal, or vario cam 'lid' (as Porsche call it).
