Hi everybody. Do we need to replace the charcoal canister for our 993 , Consider the car already over 20 years old. Any comments
 
Should never need replacing (unless somehow broken, like in a crash)

The canister captures fuel vapours (so they don just escape into the atmosphere), but when the engine is running the vapours are sucked back out of the canister and burnt in the engine along with the normal fuel.
 
Interesting point about certain components being 20yrs old though.

I was wondering the same about the airbag recently...
