I've been reading this forum for a few months and watching the classifides for a while, looking to buy my first Porsche. Ive seen lots of great advice on the forum and wondered if anyone has experience of trade sales.
I've decided a 997 is what I want and have been to see a couple which are possibilities.
I spotted an advert on the internet that is really close to my perfect specification, and almost within my budget and from a well known specialist. However the advert was pretty poorly written and pictures were limited and poor quality. Plus the car was not on their main website.
I've enquired if it is still available and been told that the car is available but it was mistakenly advertised to the public and was only intended to be advertised to the trade at that price. So if I'm interested I can take it at the trade price but as a 'trade sale' with no warranty etc.
Or they will prep it, put a warranty on it but advertise it for £8k more (which will definitely take it out of my budget).
Now this sounds a bit fishy to me, plus when I run a mot history on the number plate on the car and there is no history (plate not recognised).
What do people think? Is this normal? The price is not that cheap, but it is keen. However I was looking for a low stress way into 911 ownership.
