I need a major service with in the next couple of months!! I called Porsche Colchester and was given these prices.
I have Porsche warranty so cannot risk going anywhere else

Major service £610 Inc
Brake fluid £150 Inc
S/Plugs £275 Inc

Total £1035

The belt was replaced last year, so doesn't need replacing, does this sound about right guys? I'm waiting for Porsche Cambridge to call me back with a price.
I do get a free video of the vehicle condition, and free wash and vac

I was in Porsche Leeds yesterday and they quoted a friend £550 major service and £95 brake fluid.

I really think I wouldn't have a Porsche if i didn't have the back up of my local Indy.

Have a good weekend.

Using any VAT registered business to service your Porsche will not affect it's warranty new or used as long as genuine and approved parts are used and the service is carried out in accordance with Porsche procedures. Use a good indy, better service and cheaper.

This is not true.

The above applies to the New Car Warranty only.

The Porsche Warranty applying to cars outside of the Manufacturers Warranty period specifically states that any claims will be invalidated if the car has been serviced by any party that is not a Porsche Service Centre.

I will be sticking it into Colchester, because when the lady from Cambridge called back with the prices, she asked me if mine was the one with 6 spark plugs WTF!!!! :nooo: :nooo: :nooo: :nooo:

Plus it was the same price as Colchester. I'm not convinced about this Porsche warranty, I would imagine they would try and wriggle out in the event of a claim, if I were to have it serviced anywhere apart from a Porsche service centre?

Just to echo T8. He is spot on. In theory, any maintenance has to be carried out by an OPC, including oil change etc.

I have a warranty, but will likely switch to someone else like warranty direct in July. Although it has been worth it as far as I'm concerned, I have changed the PCM to a new head unit and OPC says they aren't allowed to extend it for that reason! Madness, isnt it......

Just a quick search as im not sure about the EU directive here but i though it WONT affect your warrenty if genuine parts are used .

It WILL.

The key words in the very first paragraph of that article are MANUFACTURER WARRANTY.

The OPC approved warranty for older cars is an Insurance product supplied by Allianz and their terms and conditions are quite clearly stated on the Warranty Certificate.

Aghh my bad .. i was thinking about new cars ..

Heres an interesting fact then .. an OPC has put a warrenty on a car that its last service was at an indy and didnt make them have a service with said OPC .. in other words does that not invalidate the warrenty straight off as its last service was at an indy ??

Im confused now anyways , probably why i just stick to fixing them sigh .

£275 for plugs, bring it round to mine I will do them for £40 you supply the plugs, they are taking the piss go to a decent independent, if I paid more than £600 for the lot I would be put out.

T8 is correct.

AUW are a law unto themsleves.

As an aside, I'm not sure I like the fully digital service (and warranty) records manufacturers have started using.

I was impressed OPC Cambridge could print out all servicing, maintenance and recalls/campaigns any OPC has undertaken on a particular car (ie OPC network now have fully merged records).

However, I have found Mercedes don't even give you a hardcopy book to stamp (which is great for anti-clocking etc), but what do you do if you have indy servicing - as it is not recorded anywhere!

Just had major service yday (Mobil 1 ( I supplied oil) sparks, brake fluid, drive belt and filters), also had new Pagid discs, pads and sensors fitted all round (supplied myself).

Top Porsche specialist and excellent service - £1,130 all in incl my costs to supply parts, saved a grand over OPC which I bank for any future bills 👍🏻
