Help - Fuel Filler Flap Stuck

Hi All,

Not sure if anyone else has had this or can think of a solution? Coming back from Centre Gravity today (Who were fantastic by the way), my fuel filler flap popped up and was "flapping" in the wind....
I pulled over and try to pop it back down and it wouldn't stay, it did look like the holding bracket had bent very slightly over the years and I think the 1000 plus miles I have done in the last 8 days in it pushed it that extra mm.....
Anyway, to hold it in to get home, I pulled the release knob inside the car out, pushed the flap down and then released the knob. End result now I'm home is I can not get it open 😬 Can I access it from below to release it?

Got about 1/8th of a tank of petrol left, so not enough to get me to a specialist or Porsche dealer....

Think you might need to get the trim removal tools out. Had a look at the Bentley manual and unless you can get to the cable and get some purchase on it, it looks like you have to approach it from the top.

Thanks for the tip 👍

Trim removal set ordered from Amazon......

It might be worth trying to thread some string (or, better still, some platic coated wire) under the rear of the flap and then gently pulling the loop towards the back of the car. It may help to have someone gently pulling the release knob at the same time. It's only a simple catch and the amount of movement required to release the cap should be fairly minimal.

Looks like you've pushed it in beyond the retainer and a hooked tool should release it. :what:

Thanks Millomboy, the trim removal kit worked a treat 👍

Glad you got it sorted.
