Hi all :bye:

So - time for my first (proper) post now that i've got the car back from having the roof repaired. For those who won't have read my newbie post - i've recently acquired my first 911 (after several happy years of Boxster ownership) so i decided to take a brave pill and buy a bottom money 996 C2 manual convertible as a bit of a 'project' to gradually improve and get back to tip top condition.

First bit of good news - the (previously inoperable) roof has been fixed by my local specialist (massive thank you to Lee Colbran at Octane Garage) - so now i'm turning my attention to something else...

Having looked at several other cars on here I just can't resist the urge to reduce the ride height a tad. I've used Eibach sport springs on previous vehicles and haven't got a bad word to say about them in terms of the ride/handling results. I'm consequently keen to use them again - but every stockist I come across only lists Eibach springs as being compatible with the Coupe & Targa???

I just assumed that the part(s) would be the same for Convertible???

I haven't been able to find any definitive answers over this on previous threads - someone else with a C2 convertible must have been through this before???

I'm hoping that the Eibach springs will be compatible regardless of how they are listed - am I just kidding myself here???!!!

Hi Captain
Am looking at same mod for my Christmas present to me

Have found H/R springs for Cab/Targa lowers 30mm £270 for sale in Design911

'my christmas present to me'

I like it

Well - in the absence of any definitive words of wisdom i reckon i'll just go ahead - get myself some Eibachs and report back on compatibility when they arrive...

From my recent research on lowering springs I am under the impression that the cab and targa use the same springs.
Cheapest Eibachs on eBay £220 + 10 delivery from a Polish company.
Actually just checked again and it seems the Eibachs aren't the same for both models but other brands seem to be.....????

This is just the sort of conflicting info that threw me when I started researching!!!

Only one way to find out I guess...

I'd love to see any pics of 996 Cabs with aftermarket springs that owners on here have - or even better if someone around the East Sussex area has one that I could see in the flesh that would be great
