Well after seeking council from your goodselves I gave Boris a good rogering with Merguires ultimate compound and ultimate wax. I used a cley bar for the first time and the more I used it the easier it became. I found the compound and wax hard to buff off and will invest in a buffing machine for the next session. I thought I hadn't done a good job then I looked at my photos and thought for a first going over it was not too shabby !!,,oh I used merguires express sealant in the spray bottle I have to say that was easy to apply and wipe off.

Recommend investing in a DAS6 Pro DA for polishing, you can do the whole car in around an hour and a half, can also use it for applying wax too, although it's just as easy by hand if you use a good quality wax like R222!

as rob says after a good machine polish its comes up a lot better and is a lot easier to maintain the shine !

I just bought the DA21 from Autobrite for my son in law to use in his new scratch and chip repair business. Around £165 and nearly half the price of the Rupes Bigfoot. Nice machine for the money and plenty good enough for the enthusiast.
