What's on your "to-do" list?

I've pretty much worked my way through all my original list I had on buying the car with one exception, my drivers side door check strap has a click. The porsche indy in brighouse I used for servicing gave me a reasonable quote for doing it properly so that's on the list maybe next spring.
I'm not aware touch wood of any major work to do, but what's in your plans and what's your budget?

Ooohh good thread!

I have pretty much tackled most jobs and like you the dreaded check strap was one of those jobs that was given the luxury of being left 'til last. Had it sorted last week for 250 pound notes.

Jobs left to do are:

1/ Bumper stays
2/ Check chassis legs

Longer Term:

1/ Full engine rebuild (not required but would be lovely)
2/ Respray (again a luxury really)

There's always other little tweaks here and there. I wouldn't mind a motorsport sound box or some Toyo R888 tyres for track days.

New front side running light lenses and spots ....... also new rear brake/indicator clusters.

It will be interesting to see how many people have the same items on their list.
My list is:
Live map with Wayne ( this week ) whoop whoop
Check strap
Front disc skimming
Suspension upgrade
Realign glovebox door
Upgrade stereo to modern classic
Change brake fluid for high temp track fluid
Refurb lightweight track wheels
Check chassis legs
Have brake calipers refurbed at pro-calipers

The list of jobs done is twice as long. It's a pleasure to own my c4 and having a to do list just adds to the enjoyment.

Great thread Chris

fit gear selector shaft seal
buy and fit timing chain cover seals
buy and fit rear suspension arm bushes (fronts just done)
fit revised battery ground strap and if that doesn't fix the starting click...
buy and fit starter motor or just the solenoid.

May eventually fit the new PA2000 kit I have, still tbd.
Fit new shark fin stone guards (current so called 'professionally' fitted ones have some small bubbles in them!)
redo front PU seals, nightmare to get them perfect.
rear chassis leg check and all that then escalates.

Although the car is great as it is I've got quite a list of things I'd like to do.

The little "to do's"
Golden rod + short shift
Get a stereo that doesn't look like a 1990's karaoke machine
Fix power socket
Centre console LED light upgrade
Fit refurbished steering wheel
New carpet for boot
Get air-con working (this might turn out to be a big "to do")
Respray brake calipers from black to red :hand: (I know I shouldn't really, but I just can't help myself)

The big "to do's" (which might never happen)
Hardbacks
Hollow spokes
Interior re-trim from blue to black

Lots recently done inc. Rear Chassis Legs, Bumper Stays, Exhausts, Check Straps, Suspension, Steering Rack etc. however this winter the following:

Red Rears
Front Clears
RS Brake Ducts (Fog Delete)
New Discs & Pads all round
Brake Fluid change
Brake Caliper Refurb
Golden Rod
Rear Wiper Delete
Rear Deck Lid Script Delete
Full Interior swap (Classic Grey to Black)
New Rims (Custom Paint)
New Bonnet Badge
Motorsound Air Box
Engine Bay Tidy Strip
Full underbody steam clean and protect

I'm sure there will be more as I go along...

That's quite a list cableguy! Should be great after that!

I have some of mine getting done at the moment:

- Broken heat exchanger/oil return replacement
- New electric window switch
- Fix dodgy connection to a front speaker
- New fan relays and a new fan
- Find a rattle near the sunroof
- Put one of those rubber things between the two wipers as mine has gone awol
- Replace a gear linkage rubber boot
- Fix the oil gauge
- Find a short on the front seat electrics
- Fix a leak near the air con dryer
- Replace the aircon condenser
- Replace some bulbs in the instruments
- Stick a new clutch in it as it creaks and is juddering
- New air mass sensor

- It was also getting the rear wheel arches painted but that is now on hold for a little while due to someone being on holiday

Also need to:
- Source some new keys and remote fobs (only have one!)
- Order a new service book as mine is full
- Replace those stone chip protector things on the rear wings
- Maybe get new front fogs and indicators
- Trip to COG (hopefully that wont throw up too much or I might!)

And aside from the 993 I have to get some stuff on eBay:
- Set of 987.2 Boxster/Cayman winter wheels and tyres
- Set of brand new rear 997.2 S disks, pads, sensors (all original Porsche)
- A fancy indoor cover with pockets for the wing mirrors and zips to get in the doors
- Other stuff I've forgotten but will see when I dig out the above!

The bill for the first list is going to be comical. Interestingly most of it was missed on the PPI I had done prior to buying it.

There's some pretty epic 'to-do' lists right there. I've basically completed all I want to do to the car to get it mechanically fine and aesthetically presentable. I've probably spent nigh on 7k or 8k since purchasing 3 1/2 years ago. The fun stuff can now commence! I have a hankering for a mental exhaust and some hollowspoke twists..

Lot of similarities in our lists...bumper stays and chassis legs was on my list last winter. .can be a bit of an epic task that one.

My current list:

Rear brakes.. fronts already done
Refurb air compressor. ..seized on m6 the other week
Replace dryer and evaporator while I've got a/c to bits
Replace electric fan on ac controller unit
Replace indicator stalks. ..won't engage sometimes
Fix heated rear screen. ..wiring has been meddled with
Run gps sender to rear parcel shelf...to get a good signal
Replace cassette holder with accessory tray
Remove front pu, touch up/repaint stone chips
Golden rod and short shifter
Red rear lenses (maybe)

Plan to do most this winter when the good driving weather is over .

Oh and suspension refurb eventually. .still feels good to me at 61K

Ooh lots...

Refurbish 17" 996 BBS 10-spokes
Respray front end due to stone chips
Remove rust on back of door sills and wheel arches
New stereo and speakers, possibly combined with sound proofing
New alarm to replace PA1000
Replace blown side light bulb
Replace front windscreen due to 1,000,000 pits
Replace rear screen due to non-functioning demister
Investigate non-functioning starter motor on first turn of key

I'll get round to some sooner than others. The bulb will be done before I drive it and the front windscreen winds me up every time I drive it.

Lots of stuff done in the last few years like aircon evaporator replacement, centre gravity alignment but it's a never-ending cycle of maintenance.

I'm down to strictly optional stuff, but the current list is:

- Hans Hahn RS type seats in Porsche leather and Aventura backs. Wish I'd ordered these before sterling tanked...
- New carpets and centre console to go with the above.
- New windscreen as the original has a lot of chips.
- Finally get the a/c sorted. May be time for the evaporator next.

Otherwise it's running nicely and looking forward to next weekend's trip to Silverstone.
