Is it possible to fit a PCM3 system from a later 997 into a 996 - say 2001 model ?

If not - due to bus's etc - has anyone installed another double din system ?
Something with Nav, DAB, Bluetooth etc

I have no experience in this, but I would guess that it's not possible as the PCM3 is integrated into the MOST of the car - so fibre, data-bus etc..

A 2001 996 is pre-fibre, and there are dash kits available to mount double DIN units on.
All you need then is to set a budget :)

I'd go for a mirror / car play system and then you can just use your phone / google / Spotify or whatever controlled by the head unit.

I'd be mainly looking for updatable Nav, DAB & Bluetooth - anything else is a bonus !

In theory you could fit a PCM 3 but a rather difficult and expensive job ..

You would need the pcm , the nav unit , the amplifier and the Most lead which would then have to be routed to the front of the car .. you cant bend a Most lead any more than around a coke can in size .. that i think would be the hardest part of the job .. just running the lead .

I would think talking to an audio firm about different systems would be the best way forward , they should be able to give the best advise on what system would suit you the best.
