MNC911 said:Yes we're on our second now. They're really good, I'm lead to believe that the early ones had problems. There's a forum for them I think it's baby range rover. This time round we went for the Autobiography. The new 9gear autobox diesel is a lot better on fuel. The first one drank like a fish.
Ask any questions you want to know who I'll be glad to help.
Jeff Deakin said:We have a 9 speed diesel, we have done about 6k in it so far, handles great, stops really well, soaks up crap roads and in sport goes well enough. My wife loved them but originally I wasn't convinced until I drove one, they are pretty good and so easy to drive. Fuel consumption is very good with the 9 speed. Anything you want to know just ask.
mazza said:Yep, bought a new Dynamic SD4 18 months ago, no issues so far with reliability, interior is great quality, Diesel engine is reasonable, new 9speed auto box is very good. Was a choice between this and the Macan, think Macan is a better drivers car, but Mrs preferred the Evoque look and image... Spec for spec the Macan would be more expensive, but arguably would hold its value slightly better...
Rear legroom is reasonable, I'm 6'2" and have seat quite far back though another me would struggle to sit behind me, would accommodate children adults to under 6' no problem.
Discounts very hard to come by, as waiting list still around 6 months I believe...
Must have options:
Auto
Glass roof (though doesn't open)
Dynamic suspension (magnetic similar to Audi R8 makes the handling and ride much better)
Memory seats (if you share driving with your partner)
Jaguar X Pace is worth a look, a bit sportier and bigger, can be had with a wide range of engines too...
Zingari said:My daughter wanted me to buy one. I talked her round. Fancied the full fat version but not the price. Settled on a Cayenne. Probably too big for your needs if you're looking at Evoque.
Chap at work (male) had one and people never stopped taking the piss. He sold it and bought an MX5
Engines supposed to be 'antique' at least the derv. Wont petrol version drop like a stone :dont know:
Knowing what I know now, too many gears in a Tiptronic box does not lead to a smooth ride :what:

Was your mates car petrol or diesel? And we're the issues with engine or suspension or electrics? Thx

I think the Evoque is a tart's car 100% My Mrs. wanted one which was fine until I realized I'd be driving it from time to time. . . . Errr, nope.
I've persuaded her to have a Macan S or GTS (which totally spanks the Evoque in all areas btw) despite the ridiculous lead time.
