Does anyone know where I can get hold of a HVAC (heating and air control unit) for cheaper than the OPC £540? the buttons on my 05 C2S have rubbed off and look proper tatty!

is fitting a diy job or will it re programming?

Thanks in advance

Quite a straight forward fit no reprogramming, you can get the buttons refurbed if you look around on the web here's one

These come up on Ebay from time to time, i got one a while back in good nick for around 120 quid, a straight forward swap.

That's a great response, thanks for the link.

Has anyone used them and if so were they happy with the end result?

I did as antonio suggested and grabbed a used but in great condition one on ebay for £120 having said that it is now starting to rub off, so will probably use climate repair in the near future :thumb:

Rob It does make you wonder how it can happen on cars that cost what these do new. and even more shocking as the Germans are normally so precise about what they do.
Maybe they contracted it out to a French company :floor:

I wear these whilst fingering my rocker switch so as not to damage the rubber. They look uber cool too and are sure to catch on.

:floor: :floor: It's a good idea ,but if my mates saw me wearing them I would fully expect to be ridiculed at minimum if not give a slap for being so a^al. 8)

You need to select your mates more carefully, clearly they are men with little comprehension of the finer things in life. I bet they don't even have any string-backs to don when pushing on? :D

Yep, used them a wee while ago and very happy with the end result. Turn around was about a week if I remember correctly. Picture of the finished product fitted back into the car here: http://911uk.com/garage.php?mode=view_modification&CID=1027&MID=2066

Another thing i tried in the past was a black acryllic pen, looked ok for a temp solution. :thumb:
