Recommendation for PPI in Newport, Wales?

Hi - I think I might have found "the one" but I'd like (at least) to get a bore inspection done (by someone who knows what to look for) or a full PPI dependant on the cost.

So anyone recommended to look at the 996.2 in Newport, Gwent. Please?

thanks
Rob

and while I'm at it... £500 for a 12 month warranty? Seems high to me?

I can recommend Chris Denning in Cardiff, ex Porsche mechanic been independent for some years. He did a PPI on a local car I was looking at plus a borescope which turned up as scored bores plus other stuff. He was also helpful when I looked at another car from Frome and gave me a contact with Cameron Porsche outside Bath who did the PPI on the car I eventually bought. Chris has done some work on my car since purchase, he's very much my go to guy, very trustworthy.

Also heard very good things about Chris Denning, he's more an happy to discuss you requirements over the phone.

Thanks to both of you :)
do you have a contact number for him? PM me if you prefer

When I sold a 930 Turbo, Styles just outside Raglan did the PPI, proper motor engineers that rebuild Porsche engines for lots of the popular names.

If you want a more cost effective version (free) then you are welcome to bring the car to me (in Newport) we can get it in the air, and we have a mechanic and bodywork specialist that would be happy to give an opinion. Maybe before spending on something with an actual specialist, however we know our way round them.

Hi Moonshine and wow, thanks! :D amazingly generous!!

But I've decided to leave the 996 in Newport alone as I've read horrendous things about the dealer and he stopped responding when I started asking about warranties..
:dont know:
So Saturday I'm heading in the opposite direction to Woking to look at a C4 convertible :)

Any link to the car?

The Newport one?
On Autotrader

Car looks good in the listing and it has a good MOT history - but the reviews are polar! Half calling them cowboys and the other half kissing their feet!! very bizarre .

What a kind offer, I'm only just outside Newport myself and perhaps we could get a few more together for a meet up if anyone I interested .

Halycon,

I used to work near Newport and that dealer has mixed reviews with lots of people, it also has changed names several times.

Good luck with your search.

CL

I've dropped them off my radar. There's enough about to ignore the dodgy ones!
So tomorrow I'm off to Woking to look at a 992.2 with a GT3 kit and (if they get back to me) a 996.1, also with the GT3 kit, near Chichester

at least the weather is good! :D

I'd be very happy to host a gathering of 911's, anyone would be welcome to get their car on the ramps, give it a good look over, and do any little jobs they wanted.

I'm just outside Newport and still work there so would be up for a get together :thumb:
