Cayenne - Snow Chains

Newbie here looking for some advice for driving to a ski resort.

I have a 57 plate Cayenne S with 275/40 20 tyres and am looking for some snow chains. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of:

1) are the market standard 16mm clearance chains OK to use rather than the over priced Porsche own brand?
2) I assume they will be needed for all 4 wheels?

Any help much appreciated!
