Gents,

For sale is my 997 PCCB.
Just got the car recently, first porsche and never had experience of this setup. I do the occasional trackday and ring trip but always used and really like the steel setup with RS29'S...so, Discs, bells and pads are for sale. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the braking of the car whilst fitted, braking was very smooth but i have been advised the passenger front was showing more wear than the other discs. I understand worn discs can now be re-coated and will be a significant saving over buying new?

Im not really sure how to price these to be honest but im sure you'll let me know...
looking for £1200 ono (PRICE REDUCED)

I'll update the ad as i go and try and get the pics loaded.

If you need any more info/pics message me and let me know.

Thanks.

A PCCB brake disk, do I win a prize :?:

Aren't the calipers different on PCCB (apart from colour) :dont know:

If I had PCCB no way would I swap them. My Indy services a 997 Turbo with 130k+ miles and they're not even half worn plus no brake dust

The fronts are shot! Particularly the passenger front.

The rears are both ok but have signs of wear.

To give you an idea it costs about £750 to re-furb each disc which also seems to be the price that used discs (complete with bells etc) go for in excellent condition.

Based on that I think you might find your price is a bit high, but GLWTS!

My first thought when I opened that pic was "Well thats F****D!" LOL!
The rest look ok tho.

As per Zingari's post here, yes, the callipers are different (bigger) & the carriers extend farther out as the disks are bigger.

Im afraid these all need to be re-built not just recoated.

The faint grey spot present on each disc indicates this.

You can even see one has been completely delaminated which will be expensive
:(

I'm not convinced about the grey spot on them. I can see them on my disks, & a friend of mine has only 7k miles on his car & the spot is showing on his too & there is no way they could be worn out at that mileage on road driving!
Admittedly I have read somewhere that the spot is a wear indicator, but don't believe it.
The width also I'm told means nothing, as it's the weight they go by allegedly, but on the other hand, the bells do have a width reading etched on them so not sure about it all.

Porsche GB told the information about the spots...

For the 997, if it is a Turbo, GT2 or GT3 then they are the same except for the colour. If a Carrera of any kind they are indeed different (essentially speccing PCCB on those also upgraded from 4 pots with smaller callipers to the GT/Turbo spec to fit the PCCB rotors).

Hmm, im not sure about this either...I was advised that they were ok apart from the passenger front which was worn???

Was talking to my Porsche service guy earlier today. He reconfirmed the the grey spot correlating to replacement of brake discs

Hmm, maybe you can always see the spot but it wears down to a different colour?
Like I mentioned earlier, a mates car has only done 7k miles & you can see the spots on them too!
