944 Tyre size?

Hi all, just bought a set of 17inch cup 1s for my 85.5 944, just trying to find best tyre size??? any ideas please?
 
What width are they?

On a 8.5"/9" rear I like to run a 255/40/17

With a 7"/7.5" front I run a 225/45/17

Currently got 7/8.5 on with 205/255 and I find it pushes into under steer too much when provoked. My other sets of wheels are all 225/255 tyres and feel much more balanced.
