Has anyone used Fearnsport for a remap they seem really good value £650 +vat will I notice a big difference in performance?

Thanks

A remap make a massive difference.
Make sure they check few things before the remap:

A pressure test in the intake system.
Check the condition of the DV's
Check the turbos actuators.
It is very important. If they can't do it forget about it.

After the remap you may have issue with clutch. The increase in torque will make it slip , not always but it can.

Enjoy !

MRCtuning are also a good place for remaps and will be able to do the checks .

Matt has done my remap

he has also done some other work for me

and incidentally dug me out of a hole with my engine when many other "experts" didn't know what was going on

he is very trustworthy, and knowledgeable and I have no hesitation recommending him

he may not have as much " presence " on the internet as other tuners
but some people with some pretty serious race cars are happy to let him care for their pride and joy, that should be all the reassurance one needs

you should notice a big difference of course it really depends on what shape your motor is in,as above Dvs boost pipes, engine timing!!!! ,my reflection after he had worked on it was that it had probably never been right even coming out of the factory!
be prepared that you might need to spend more money than the remap itself in order for it to perform as it should

Matt said that he would check all was well with the car before the remap he also said that the clutch would be fine as the car has only done 21k do you think the remap would devalue it as it would no longer be standard?

Thanks

You have answered your own question, by asking it

If you are keeping the car a long time then it wont matter

But buyers of such a low miles car will probably be looking for as standard as possible

A remap can be removed. Not a big deal.

Trust me dude you will not regret going to Matt for anything, ive had a fearnsport map on my car and it was epic, he is one of the few people I would trust to work on my car and is one of the nicest most genuine guys you will ever meet.

when he did mine first time round he said this,

I rinsed the clutch after 4,000 miles though in fairness the clutch had already done 43,000 so it was probably on the way out.I have however upgraded.

In Terms of devaluing it is up to you the remap brings the car alive,I personally feel that a remap by a recognised specialist shouldn't affect value some would say it increases it.

When he remapped it having taken it to pieces and resetting the cam timing it was like having an atlas rocket under your backside

What were the symptoms of the cam timing problem?

its a really convoluted story that took 2 1/2 years and many 0000's to sort out and started with the bolts backing out of the intergear,

I don't really want to hijack this guys thread,

you can PM if you are interested.

Thanks for your feed back I am going to have it done Mat said he can put it back to standard at any time.

No brainer at the money you have been quoted dude, and you will never want to go back to stock.

Matt did my first car at 31k miles. I put an exhaust on at the same time and it was great. Clutch was fine at 55k miles when the car was written off so god knows how much longer it would have lasted.
