Looking at getting this done as I miss the note from my sl55. Anyone had this done to their vehicles? Any recommendations where to get it done in North London? Appreciate the feedback[/quote]

Hayward and Scott in Basildon. They did mine and it sounds amazing. I went with a 1.5" hack, plenty loud enough.

i had mine done by a small firm on an industrial estate near hayes west london, who advertise as exhaust specialists.... and although the job was fine....they were not very professional, and i did not like the way they treated my car, also whilst it was advertised as being cheap, there was some remedial work to be done (that they caused) and this pushed the price up.
you do get what you pay for, but you will be happy with the end result/sound.

Cheers guys anymore for anymore?

Medicus St Albans is not, but isn't far from north London. 45mins maybe?

Porticraft in Mill Hill, NW7 4RT, did mine.

Looks like il be paying a visit to emp I have read loads of good feedback. The prob I've got now is how big ... 1.75 seems to be popular. Don't want to sound like a Barry though but at same time want to hear the difference!

When comparing bypass pipe sizes, be careful you are comparing like with like.
There are 2 versions of the bypass. A short inlet to outlet and a longer corner nipple to outlet. The corner nipple bypass method requires a larger diameter pipe than the inlet/outlet method to get similar effects.

Worth noting the corner nipple bypass only works efectively on 3.6 boxes but the inlet/oulet bypass works on either 3.4 or 3.6 boxes.

Bridge bypass OEM equivalent is 1" (or 1.5" if you want to push the envelope)

Corner nipple bypass is 2.25"

(and I went with Hayward and Scott, just FYI, but its only stainless steel plumbing, so any competent TIG welder should be able to oblige with a photo/spec of what' required)

Thanks for the info guys will give Haywood a call as well just don't want to end up with a drone sound
