Improving ride quality?

I am running 18's and the well respected indy I use suggested 29 front 36 rear. When I questionsed this the reply was they find it is a good setting for maximum tyres life.

Those are Boxster 986 pressures not 996 on 18's. In my opinion too low and would compromise handling and tyre life.

36 and 44 (but 34 and 40 are ok).

FWIW, if the coffin arms/geometry/track rods/bushes etc are not right your car is more likely to wear the tyres quickly on the inside. Dropping the pressures may well make the wear less obvious but it is just masking a big problem.
