Didn't want to hijack the similar thread going on.

Similar dilemma, but my 997.1 C4s is older (2006) higher miles (62k) and out of warranty - minor - £480 at OPC Reading, or £175+v at Northway.
Always had my 996 C2 done at Northway, like and trust them.
Guessing from the thread the value of Porsche stamps decrease over time, but when to cross over?
My 996 is bit tatty, has everything it needs done, done, but no point pouring money away.
My 997 is a thing of beauty and will keep till can justify a turbo!
Warranty expired a year ago, worth renewing?

For all those who post advice to newbies like myself, thank you. Almost every question I've had since getting my 997 has had an answer here, top job!

Hope the photo thing works.. :thumb: :thumb:

If it was me I'd continue with the OPC servicing your car. I'd only go indy if the car already had specialist stamps or it's beyond the 9yrs old. You should be able to negotiate up to 15% off the list price.

It's also still young enough that if you decide to sell your car the next owner can purchase the OPC warranty after 90 days or you can do it on their behalf.

It's a beauty though! I love a C4S Cab in Basalt Black with Sport Designs

Must admit, if there's a book full of OPC stamps them I'd carry it on too.

Thanks gents
LTT to be fitted by Northway then service at OPC

Cheers

Darn it, needs major service 60k
OPC Reading £610
Northway £240+v

Guess still OPC?

How do you get 15%off? Just ask?

Cheers all

Don't know Northway, but that is a very good price, my local Indy is £380+vat for a major. Even so, the conundrum always comes back to the amount those OPC stamps are worth :x

Cheaper OPC servicing seems to apply to 996 and older, you'd think they would look at it sooner than that, say over 7 years, but I guess they do their sums. Perhaps I've missed it, but looks like you'd need to ask about discount for your car, might be worth reaching out to 2-3 OPCs?

Excellent, nice day for it!

Indys and OPCs seem to structure their pricing similarly, the core price includes all the usual parts, but brake fluid, spark plugs are extra. If you look here, you can see what's what at an OPC http://porscheownerservices.co.uk/servicing/?model=71

Spark Plugs, Belts, Brake Fluid are all independent of the Major Service so it's additional cost on top of the £610.

Cost breakdown from memory:

Spark Plugs (Every 4years): £234
Brake Fluid (Every 2yrs): £150
Drive Belts (Every 6yrs): Can't remember! think it was £120

You can find out what's required by checking out your service manual.

The same will apply if using Northway Porsche BUT it will be cheaper. If you have no intention of purchasing the OPC warranty or selling before the cars 9th birthday then go down the indy route. Either way both are respectable outfits to have stamp in your service manual so it's question of whether you're prepared to pay the difference.

Northway are going to do it all. Major, plugs, brake fluid and LTT
LTT - nominal charge - say half an hour + coolant. Ray says not much work as car already there. Did say if LTT only would be one hour labour and not a 'while-u-wait" service as need to let it cool down. As fair as it gets really.

Now need to order that LTT, then find a few hours to make the grills...

Daily driver getting dirty

Thanks for the update 911 AU

Sounds like a wise choice given the costs etc have you considered the Zunsport Grills? I used a 20% discount code to buy mine and could be used for yours as well.

I hope you give your car a clean weekly :thumb:
