Really p'd off.

Took the car there to get new crank sensor fitted. They did a full health check and gave me a list as long as my arm. I only got the crank sensor done.

On that list they mention struts and arms, which I already had done less than a year ago so ignored it. When I got my bill today, I noticed that the struts and arm were removed as faults that still needed to be remedied. WTF? Did they just put that in there in the hope I might pay over £2k to get it fixed?

Anyway, gets worse.

They put a charge in on my bill for £70 to tighten battery terminal. WTF? I disputed that and they removed the charge. But FFS £70 to turn a bolt by half a turn!!

I haven't started yet.

Drove the car home and everything is fine and dandy. Get out the car and notice that they had spilt a fluid down side of car (on outside). The car is dark blue and the fluid is black so not easy to spot. Anyway accidents happen so I cleaned it off...took ages to get off. I had to clay it off and even now it's not fully removed. Hopefully some more clay and polish will sort it out.

The worst bit.

I walk away from the parked car and notice a flap hanging at the front of the car under the front bumper. Walk back to the car and realize the bar stewards had scraped the front plastic bit... As in driven over a high bump or cornered on a slope. The flap is a cover that has obviously become deranged after the scrape.

In the grand scheme of things nothing major I suppose but still highly pissed off and as much as I like Porsche as a brand and the posh service at the OPC, it is clearly run by a bunch of muppets.

I guess there is not much I can do as all I will get is: it was there before, Sir!

Dare I ask the county this OPC is based?

All sounds like a bad dream. I am sure you don't want to name names but roughly where are you located?

Gotta be worth a letter to Porsche Uk...70 quid to tighten a bolt is really taking the p*** :frustrated:

Outrageous you must complain.Got to say though took mine to opc bolton for new key and re-programme.Had a health check done and came back all clear. No work required. Was very impressed just assumed they would think of something.

Snap GT4 guess we are both hoping its not the one we both use ! :?:

It is not a case of self-interest.

I have no concern it is my OPC.

I have have had faultless and conciencious service for over three years and my next door neighbour for nearly thirteen.

Every OEM part, repair, scheduled maintenance, tyres and geometry have been supplied and/or fitted by them with my complete satisfaction.

My expectation is it is one of the usual suspects, who sadly time and again don't do the Porsche experience and brand any favours.

opc

Oh dear Im glad I have mine seen to by a well trusted Indie, my lorries go into main dealers for various jobs that we cannot rectify on our own, because they need the computer to diagnose the problem, and then it comes down nearly always to a trusted old school type mechanic with good old fashioned diagnostic skills to put things right, I despair at this modern brigade of kids who know diddly squat but have to use a computer, and thats what OPC are mostly kids and computers, and fancy receptionists in big swanky bulidings ripping us off when the best people by far are those old brigade who had the sense to get out and set up as indies. I feel for you and understand your frustration, use an indie if possible, the whole main dealer system borders on the corrupt Mike

Hmmm, that's not good.

I was very happy with my OPC when they did the inspection on my car, however, later on I found that there were a coupe of things they had missed, and that they raised a couple of issues that don't seem to exist (most recently they reported a failed bearing on the f/n/s turret, when removing and taking apart there was no scoring, damaged bearings or debris in it and all was smooth).

I have chased them three times for the paper work, and I am still awaiting it which does annoy me. At least they have my reg and chasis and a record of the inspection....

Then there is the 'specialist' that replaced the gear box oil seals and they leaked within a month and had to be replaced again.....

Is it against forum rules to name them?

Would Porsche UK take any notice? Mind you, the vehicle health check they sent via email and the invoice today do show some discrepancies which would be hard to argue against.

I won't name and shame just yet, as I still have some faith they will get back to me and try to make me a satisfied customer.

Btw, I live in London. Around Zone 3.

As I suspected, OPC Cheese Farm.

No surprise there then.

Do a search.

Surprised your RMS didn't fall out and your discs warp as you pulled the handbrake up in the car park.

I hear some of the Service Managers are on such good bonuses they can actually afford to buy themselves a Ferrari.

They have a very steep ramp up to the first floor service bay too.

Porsche can't be selling cars to the level that they used to (circa 1999 - 2006) therefore they've got to make up the loss somewhere:

This is where you come in. Not only are they going to charge you a premium for what they tell you needs doing to your car but they might do a shite job while they're at it!.

Do yourself a favour and find a good indi locally. That way you'll fnd out if the 'problems' really are 'problems' or whether they are just 'money making problems'

Adrian.

Some of the other things they flagged:

- steering rack leaking (not used a drop of oil in one year so not sure what they mean)

- Various oil leaks (first they said maybe an oil leak and car should be cleaned and monitored then they said that there are oil leaks...but I had the car serviced a month ago and all sources of oil leaks were addressed - even put news paper on drive floor to monitor)

- Side indicators losing their 'orangeness' - wtf? I had MOT a month ago and all kosher

- Water jet nozzles not pointing correctly - £28 to realign (I keep a saftey pin in central console to realign - takes about 5 seconds)

At least I know there is a pattern here!

rajkumar911,
If if wasn't for GT4 pointing out who the dealer was, I would say you where part of a Paul Whitehouse / Harry Enfield wind up. I'm so sorry but Side indicators losing their 'orangeness' had me howling. I really am suprised you didn't see things like:

Glove compartment sounds like midget with Hammer.
Removed hammer off midget £80
Midget given a good talking to £120

Scratch on Windscreen
Taped Windscreen £200

You need to tell them badly rajkumar.
