Porsche West London

Nothing - covered by the warranty. But it took about an hour.

No Porsche warranty for me.AA say it's down to the dealer & dealer says it's down to AA.Might have to bite the bullet & pay £120 per hour +vat with Porsche or find a specialist who has a PIWIS tester.

All my fault should have just got it sorted sooner.Just glad I got a fantastic deal when buying the car.

Porsche ought to do it for free as a goodwill gesture, I doubt you as an owner can have any impact on the cause of the problem so in reality it is a manufacturing fault. Lucky it isn't something safety critical.

Talked to a bod in service dept at West London Porsche. He said he had never heard of reset 'handover' fault which is worrying or he just wanted me to stump up the £120+vat.I will call them tomorrow & try & get them to do it as a goodwill gesture, but I wont be holding my breath.

you need to ask a techy

when we used to get in a car at pdi only the bare essentials worked for transporting but no comfort things are turned on..

at pdi we carried out a vehicle handover which turns all required components on which included heated seats where applicable..

we only come across this fault when 997 first came out and spent a couple of hours looking for problem with heated seat, turned out that if you re hand the vehicle over with piwis it turns the ecu's back on and jobs a good un...

Just talked to the sevice manager at Porsche West London. He will not do it as a goodwill gesture as he says it might be another fault.Even if it is just a coding issue he still wants £120+vat.
Very pissed off as the previous owner had the car serviced there & spend a fortune at Porsche West London.

Phone them back restating your cause then say you'll take the car to OPC west Byfleet instead, not much further travelling. If you have to pay for it then make it known that you'll no longer be using their service centre as this is a Porsche fault, your money will be spent at another OPC or even Indy...

It just shows how the OPC tries to treat Porsche owners as cash cows.
