I was reading a Porsche mag - and it stated that engine problems existed on 997 with IMS & RMS.

It also said that there were "rumours" that there was a problem with number 6 cylinder that caused engine failure

Well, for the record...its no rumour....its reality....as it happened to me & Porsche totally ignored me. Never again

Dropped a car off at my local OPc on thursday, chatting to the senior technician, standing beside an 04 Boxster 2.7, 80,000 miles, sketchy history, some main dealer some specialist and most services done late, car had a broken intermediate shaft, so new engine needed

Porsche had offered an 80% contribution to the engine, owner to pay for the fitting.

which i thought was quite reasonable
