My 55reg 997 C4S Cab has a small plastic protrusin that looks a bit like a sensor, from the driver's side air well at the front of the car. Only just noticed it, and have no ides what it is... (also have no photo am afraid!)

Any ideas? Looks like a small plastic spike about an inch long.
 
Cheers Stuart... didn't think I was alone - just had not spotted it before, and like to know what everything does. Once again 911uk to the rescue!
