Well, they might be, but for those of us with clown style comedy feet, something designed for the purpose works better. I use a pair of these http://www.race-boots.com/product.htm

thanks Sundeep,

bummer, the kit I have doesn't have those UHF frequencies,

Never mind. I'll just make sure I don't get lost

PMR is low range isn't it and pretty rubbish inside of a car

I normally use the non pmr frequencies which have much better range IIRC

I would agree PMR aint that good in the car

if there are better units out there, non-pmr please could someone (if they have a set) bring them along please

I have Midland G7 twin pack from
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=47345

a44fb_charger.jpg

Comes with twin charger etc. I've used them the last few visits to the ring and on LPD they have a great range even inside the car. Outside of the car about 3 - 7 miles depending on what's in view etc

They seemed very good value to me at £79.99 for the twin pack. Robust, the charge lasts easily all day, backlit, customizable, roger bleep tones.

OK, so those are the same 8 channel PMR446 as mine.

Channel 8, sub-channel 11 :)

Breaker Breaker

Yeah which is fine around the ring outside but I have 69 LPD channels too which go for miles not metres, but will try the PMR when I see you.

Call your Insurance company and say you are going to Germany shopping in Koln.

They will change your policy to fully comp as with no notification you are only 3rd party in Europe.

You will get issued a green card but you won't get it in time, don't worry.

Make sure you take the same card you used to pay for the eurotunnel to the check in.

Throw your high vis over the back seat/passenger seat so it can be seen that you have one. This is just for France, the Belgian and German police don't really give a f.cuk, lol

Don't even take a laser jammer/detector, leave it at home.

Have a great time!
