Driving to work this morning I had the above light come on.

The car is an early 997 C2 S, and it has a non Porsche battery (it says Platinum on it).

Checked: battery connections, belts to alternator - all turning and tight, tried running with all electrices off. Still the same.

It came on 2 mins before I stopped, battery load was probably high as wipers, sidelights, fan, demister and music on.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance :bye:

Fwiw it was a broken alternator, which seems a bit early for it to go.

Exeter opc have changed 2 on 997s so far apparently

Suspect alternator might have been faulty manufacture.
