Hi there...

New here..

So first things first Hello to all..

OK then onto my problem..

I have recently acquired a second 911, a 930 turbo..

This came my way after suffering a little bit of crash damage..
This is all now repaired and looking spot on..

Took it out for a test run this afternoon..
Initially all was well.? drives as it should till you ask for some performance..!!

It feels/felt like there was no turbo boost actually felt like a choked up air filter..

Got it back to the workshop pulled out the filter to find about 3 litres of oil in the air box..????

Now before i start ripping into everything to try figure out whats going on..!!

Does anyone have any input on what could be wrong..??
There seems to be several valves connected to the dry sump system..?

Is there any history of these sticking or wearing out.?
Could it be anything to do with the breather system on the engine..??

Happy to hear from anyone with suggestions on this issue..

Many thanks in advance..

John

Oil in the airbox could happen if you put too much oil in in the first place.
You have to measure the oil level with the dip stick. The car needs to be level, the engine running and the oil needs to be on running temperature.

Thanks

Hey there Por911sche...

Managed to solve the problem the other day..

Many thanks for taking the time to read and post a reply..!!

Turns out the oil level is fairly critical on these cars..

Too much and the air box gets the extra pumped into it.. (Not Good..!!)

Too little and well disaster X ££'s X swear words.. is the formula for that scenario

The car now needs a new set of discs and pads..

Gotta say I'm not too concerned since it was enjoyable killing off the existing set.. :gunfire:

Anyway onwards and upwards..

John
