I think they have changed the material type to ptfe for the gasket which has helped reduce the incidence which was more on the 996. I'm not sure if the gasket came in part way through the 997 model. Anyone else know if this is true? I'm sure I read it on here so it must be :D

The PTFE seal update of 2005 was apparently the Holy Grail of RMS (according to Porsche PR).

Or at least it is the most recent variation.

Doesn't explain why 997s still expire
