Hello there,

I purchased the 2006 997 from England 2 months ago. Everything seemed to be ok until yesterday. When I stopped at traffic lights the warning light "check engine" showed up. I had the codes checked this morning, two showed up P2189 and P2187. Has anybody had the same problem? Can anyone please give me some clue how to solve this problem? Thank youu!!! :worship:

P2187/89 are Too Lean at Idle.

I'd say it's more than likely a faulty MAF, might respond to a good cleaning.

P2189 is bank 2 (MAF) - AKA air mass meter

P2187 is either a too rich or too lean(cant remember which) idle/tickover (nearly always caused by P2189)

Sort out the MAF problem, clear the ECU and P2187 should be gone also.
