California-based tuner Vorsteiner has released its latest aerodynamic package for the 997 Porsche 911, reducing the car's weight through the use of carbon-fiber as well as giving it a more aggressive overall look. Known as the Porsche 997 'V-GT Coupe,' Vorsteiner's new kit includes a carbon front bumper with flared lower flanks and much bigger air intakes than the standard unit found on the 911. Where the bonnet meets the bumper, there is also a new opening for the center radiator vent.
Despite being much lower than the standard 911 front bumper, the V-GT unit still offers comfortable ground clearance for daily driving conditions but is offered with a removable carbon lip spoiler for track usage just in case.
At the rear, Vorsteiner has added a new bumper with an integrated carbon diffuser and stabilizing aero fins. This improves downforce when used in conjunction with Vorsteiner's rear deck lid and wing. The V-GT decklid has been specially designed with integrated single-piece dual ram air scoops that channel air into the engine compartment during high speed driving. The carbon-fiber structure of the decklid also reduces the weight of the rear while retaining strength and rigidity.
A Vorsteiner wing blade further optimizes aerodynamics and air flow with its more aggressive wing profile that can be adjusted at different angles to provide customized levels of downforce for specific racing and track events.
Vorsteiner offers the choice between two lightweight full rear bumper replacements featuring either twin or quad slotted vents. The rear bumper comes standard with a European license plate opening but can be ordered to accommodate American plates also.
Custom Vorsteiner door sills are also available, as well as carbon-fiber mirror covers an interior dress-up kit. Previous Vorsteiner projects include packages for the BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG.
