Hi
Well i went and got my aircon recharged yesterday at Kwik Fit after reading about it on here, i have to say i was very pleased with the service, they check it first to see what the pressure is like and mine was just normally low for the time that it hadn't been charged for so they emptied the system checked for leaks and then regassed to the manufacturers settings which are all in their system, and low and behold the system is now fully serviced all for £45 AND they give you a 20% discount card fo the next time it needs doing !!!
I originally wanted to get it done as i have an irritating noise associated with the air con, it actually souns like a pulley or something however i was under the impression that a regas can stop some noise, so i got the regas done to see if would work, unfortunately it didn't i still have an annoying noise, sounds like a pully and the sound goes when you turn the chill button off, does anyone have any ideas what it could be, the noise is coming from the engine area so its obviously something that runs of the auxillary belt? i'm hoping its a tensioner or something rather than the compressor bearings ? Not too familiar with the engine set up so need to investigate i think. is there a tensioner that only comes into play when the air con is on ??
Anyway if you need a regas i can recommend Kwik Fit.
