fan blade replacement

got the rear brake pads done (genuine ones) as well as a few other things.

However, I have been told that i should possibly prepare for the replacement of my fan blade in the near future (it is old old and beggining to deteriorate with small signs of fracture coming)

Is this common fro these to be replaced and how much dosh are we looking at for parts and labour (seperate) and where can i source.

I replaced my fan a few months ago. My local porsche dealer informed me that the part number for my 1990 C4 had been superseeded. The new fan had to have new shims, pulleys alternater & air-con belts.

The OPC quoted around £500 for the new fan & associated parts.

I phoned a few porsche specialist breakers.

In the end i got the alternater, housing & fan complete for £80.

A day after i ordered this lot, another breakers yard finally phoned back offering me a fan only for £50.

I replaced mine myself on a saturday afternoon. A specialist garage wouldn't take very long to do the job.

woudl appreicate if you could pm me the details of the specialist breakers. much appreiacted.

what colour is yours ? Any pics for us ?

love seeing them. there are 4 in my building at work alone, excluding mine.
 
Hi jlee & Boxsey, thanks for the welcome.

I've had my Black 1990 C4 cab for just over four years & do as much work myself as possible. I'll keep checking the forum & give any advice i can.
